Play Therapy
Children do not yet have the same level of emotional awareness or language as adults, particularly when they have experienced trauma, loss, or significant change.
This can make it difficult for them to express what they are feeling or to make sense of their experiences in a verbal way.
Play Therapy offers a gentle, developmentally appropriate approach that meets children where they are. It provides them with a safe and accepting space to communicate through play – their natural language.
Through this process, children are able to express thoughts and feelings they may not yet have words for, explore and make sense of their inner world, and begin to process complex or overwhelming experiences, including trauma.
Over time, this therapeutic relationship supports emotional regulation, builds resilience, and helps children develop a stronger sense of self, enabling them to feel more secure both within themselves and in their relationships with others.
